January, 1827 in "The Façade of Quad in Nimrod" marks the closing of many mysteries and a "what happened after" for many major characters. It also marks a new beginning for some of them. But what of the real world? What were WE doing?
The Façade of Quad in Nimrod takes place in a fictional 1826 - 1827 England. Just out of curiosity, I wondered what the world was really doing during 1826 - 1827. So I decided to look it up and write about it. Here we will talk about December, most importantly, Christmas.
The Façade of Quad in Nimrod takes place in a fictional 1826 - 1827 England. While it is historical fiction, it is heavier on the fiction part and not so much historical. Imagine this scene, you wake up to a nice sunny day. You get your tea, sit down on the couch, and read the story of a stranger's terrible death by a serial killer still at large. Oh, what a lovely day.
Sometimes story research for world-building takes me to very interesting places. Mainly because I don't want to just say, "Oh, yeah, they say some water spells and make rain happen. The end."
