The New Soleil Girls books are all the books which begin in the fictional state of New Soleil, America. It’s somewhere near California and is modeled off many of its stereotypes, such as valley girls, the ocean, Sunset Boulevard, gated communities, and the fast-paced LA lifestyle. I was also influenced by teen drama TV series like Hannah Montana, Lizzie McGuire, and the movie, Mean Girls.

Every book follows a girl who lives in New Soleil. They first display a stereotype but with complexities, and learn their lessons when teleported into a fantasy world. They’re often somehow connected to this fantasy world because of something in their past. The girls all go to the same high school, Fieldmoor High, and some of them might know each other from class or in passing.

The books do have somewhat of a chronological order, but they can be read as standalones, as each story has its own set of characters and worldbuilding. As I said, the only connection is where the main characters are from and what school they go to.
